Abraham’s Family

Sarai (later Sarah) was Terah’s daughter by his second wife. Abram (Later Abraham) married his half sister Sarai. Abram’s second son Isaac (the son of the promise) married his uncle’s granddaughter Rebekah. Jacob married Rebekah’s neices Leah and Rachel and, together with their handmaidens Zilpah and Bilhah, fathered the tribes of Israel. Jacob’s brother Esau was father of the Edomites. Abram’s nephew Lot had two sons by incest: Moab, the father of the Moabites, and Benammi, the father of the Ammonites. The Edomites, Moabites and Ammonites became adversaries to the Israelites.
